We had the third session with our sixth country, Denmark, on September 19th!
"All the Danish traditions scared the heck out of me…"
"It was a wonderful opportunity not to learn about the other country’s tradition, but also that of my country!"
We had very positive feedback from the participants this time as well!
In the session, we went over some of the traditions as well as superstitions seen in the two countries and talked about how/the extent to which those practices and notions are still prevalent today in the breakout rooms.
"I always thought that Danish culture was so elegant (ofc not to say that it is not haha), so I was pretty shocked to hear about all the rather violent traditions."
As one of the Japanese participants wrote in our reflection sheet, there are so many things that we do not know about the world only with the exposure to the mainstream media.
Getting to know the reality of the world like this is the beauty of our program, and we believe that such small incremental learnings and realizations lead to personalization.
I didn't know this country had such an aspect! So cool!
If anyone felt so in the session and have come to feel ever slightly more attached to your country and your friends', we are super happy!
Our next session is going to be on the 3rd of October from 8pm JST (1pm Danish time) for 90 mins.
We will be talking about the education systems of the two countries next time. Denmark is famous for its “good” education system. Then how and why “good”? Is it perfect?
So many things to explore!
Please bring your friends and join us:)

We are super excited to see you all in our next sessions!
