Representative: Kento Suzuki

I had the opportunity to take part in the UN75 in Hiroshima event in 2020. There, I painfully realized just how few of my fellow students in Hiroshima see themselves as having a real stake in the Nuclear Nonproliferation movement, and how even fewer decide to raise their voices and make action; even though we have all been born in one of the only two places on earth where a nuclear weapon has been brutally discharged on civilians. Nuclear Nonproliferation is not the only project that calls upon the world's youth to see themselves in the project. I began this Personalization Project, with this goal in mind: to allow ourselves to see ourselves in the world's issues. 

Social Justice and Peace rely on allowing as many people as possible to see themselves as having a real stake in these massive endeavors. To see oneself as a stakeholder of a global endeavor, it is crucial to be connected to real individual friends who are directly impacted by the relevant issues. My goal is to give all students like me around the world the opportunity to talk to each other, to learn about the issues that impact them directly.
